The challenge: interactive demo (2 min)

Your challenges

Train your customers, in their language, without sending a technician every time.

Commissioning, onboarding, maintenance: every customer training session ties up one of your best technicians, often far away, sometimes abroad. Your technician passes on the procedure once, in a few minutes, on your equipment; at each customer’s site, the operator follows it in augmented reality, in their language, even without a network.

On delivery of a new machine, the manufacturer’s technician hands augmented-reality glasses to the customer’s operator.

The situation

Every customer to train means a technician on the road.

Improving customer support, reducing the cost of customer training, standing out: these are reasons that led some of our industrial customers to choose us.

Technicians on the road

Commissioning, operator training, rare interventions: so many trips for your best technicians, who are then missing back home.

Support that repeats itself

The same questions keep coming back to support, the same tasks misunderstood. And every new team at the customer’s site has to be trained again.

Customers far away, in other languages

Every country has its language, every customer its teams. A translated manual describes the task; it does not show it.

Closed sites or sites without a network

A protected site, a military customer, an isolated workshop: no online service gets in, and your customer will not open its network.

What SHIFT89 changes

Your technician's know-how, delivered with the equipment, in the customer's language.

  • A few minutes

Your technician passes on commissioning or maintenance in a few minutes, on the equipment: one minute per instruction, with no technical writer and no filming.

  • On the real equipment

Your customer's operator follows each step on their equipment, hands-free, at their own pace, as many times as needed.

    Learn more
  • In each customer's language

The tutorial is translated in a few seconds and read in the operator's language, by an artificial intelligence that runs on your computer, offline.

  • At the customer's site, without a network

The tutorial works at your customer's site without any connection, neither to your servers nor to theirs. No online account to create, no network to open.

Our approach

First, understand how a hands-on skill is learnt. Only then, the tool.

Before designing our tool, we studied how people learn to do with their hands what they cannot yet do.

  1. A learning method from our research work

With research laboratories, we studied how people learn a task they don’t know how to do, in a constrained environment. The aim is not to make people act like robots: it is for everyone to understand, remember and own the skill. This method is validated by 5 industrial PhD theses.

  2. A creation method within every expert’s reach

The real challenge is creation: experts don’t have time, and not all of them are comfortable with digital tools. They create their own tutorials, very quickly, with the help of the built-in AI, and these tutorials apply the learning method without them needing to know it.

  3. The tool we wish we’d had

As former industry professionals, we know every second counts: the expert’s time must be kept as short as possible. We also know the value of trade or defence secrets: everything works offline, without compromise, artificial intelligence included, right down to translating a tutorial in a few seconds.

The result: tutorials created in a few minutes, that really make people learn.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions.

Do our customers need to connect to anything?

No. The tutorial works at your customer's site without any connection: not to your servers, not to theirs, not to a cloud. No online account is needed.

Can we deliver the training required by the contract this way?

Yes: deliver it as tutorials that work at your customer's site, without a network, with a quiz to check what has been learnt. What the contract requires is for you and your customer to define.

Do our customers need to buy devices?

Yes: the operator follows the tutorial with augmented-reality glasses or a headset. We advise you and your customers on the device suited to their use and budget; several models on the market are compatible.
